Technology: Supply and Demand Demand Demand!
Technology has created new developments that have enhanced our culture and society, “Two-thirds of U.S. adults (67%) say science has had mostly positive effects on society.” (Funk, Kennedy, & Podrebarac Sciupac, 2016). In doing so we as consumers have evolved as these new advancements emerge. One of the major benefits to our society is the rate in which consumers can obtain information and creators can publish content.
Gone is the day in which one had to wait for nightly news to gain information. Social platforms and technology have changed the way we communicate in frequency and speed. Platforms like Twitter and Facebook and devices like smartphones and tablets allow users to interact in almost real-time, “mobile connectivity through cell phones, and later smartphones and tablet computers, made anytime-anywhere access to information a reality for the vast majority of Americans.”(Pew Research Center, 2015). Mobile devices have increased access to information and the need for more information. Technology has increased the desire for constant content for consumers. In turn, this has made creators meet the demands of the public. As technology increases the access and speed of information content creators will need to continually finetune their craft to keep up with the pace of global audiences.
